1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device (computer, tablet, or phone) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work correctly, provide security features, and give website operators information about how their site is being used.
TrueCert uses a minimal set of cookies that are strictly necessary for the platform to function. We do not use any advertising or social media tracking cookies. Our analytics tool (Umami) is fully cookieless.
2. Cookies We Use
| Cookie Name | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Session cookie | Maintains your session while you use the platform. Required for login, assessment progress, security protection, and all authenticated features. | Essential (first-party) | Session (deleted when you close your browser) |
| Remember me | Keeps you logged in between browser sessions when you choose "Remember me" at login. Contains an encrypted token that is validated against our database. | Functional (first-party) | 90 days |
Stripe Payment Cookies
When you make a payment, you are redirected to Stripe's checkout page. Stripe may set its own cookies to process your payment securely and prevent fraud. These cookies are set by Stripe (a third party) and are governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy.
Stripe cookies are only set during the payment process and are not used by TrueCert for any other purpose.
3. No Third-Party Tracking
TrueCert does not use:
- Analytics tracking cookies (our analytics tool, Umami, is fully cookieless)
- Advertising or retargeting cookies
- Social media tracking pixels or cookies
- Any cookie-based fingerprinting or cross-site tracking
All cookies on our platform are strictly necessary for providing the service or are functional cookies you opt into (such as "Remember me").
4. How to Manage Cookies
You can control and manage cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
- View which cookies are stored and delete them individually
- Block cookies from specific or all websites
- Set preferences for first-party vs. third-party cookies
- Configure automatic deletion of cookies when you close your browser
Here are links to cookie management instructions for common browsers:
Please note: blocking session cookies will prevent you from logging in and using authenticated features of TrueCert. The platform requires the session cookie to function.
5. Contact
